Heron Pond Elementary School Food Service Program 2008-09
The Heron Pond Elementary School breakfast/lunch program is a pre-paid system. Each student has a meal account in which parents make payments to cover their children’s purchases in advance.  When making payments, please specify how the money is to be used: breakfast and/or lunch, or milk only.  All accounts are OPEN unless we receive a letter from you requesting no purchases.  Occasionally, children do get adventurous and sometimes make purchases their parents are unaware of.  Parents are responsible for these purchases.

What’s for lunch and may I join my child?
Please refer to our menu for selections.  This will help you to determine the funds needed.  Our menu is sent home monthly with your child and is also available on the school website (click here).  Parents and grandparents are welcome to join us.  Please call 673-1811 (ext. 4) by 9:00 on the day you will be dining with us to be included in the lunch count.  Adult meals are $4.00.

Wellness
The lunch program encourages healthy eating and makes every effort to provide nutritious and satisfying foods for our students.  We use a variety whole grains such as wheat, oats, bran, barley, and rice.  We also include beef, pork, chicken, and turkey in our recipes.  The lunch program offers fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables to encourage your children to try a wide variety of foods.  A choice of whole milk, 1% low fat milk or 1% chocolate milk is provided with each meal.

My child has food allergies.
We ask parents to contact us to discuss your child’s needs.  Please contact Carol S. Malony, Food Service Manager or the school nurse, Donna Kemp, at 673-1811 so we can help you with your food options.

How to make a payment.
All checks or cash should be in an envelope with the student’s full name and teacher’s name to ensure proper credit. Payment is due every FRIDAY for the upcoming week. Some parents prefer to mail their checks to us directly so payments are not lost.  Money stays in your child’s account until it is used, so absences and field trips need not be a worry.  Parents are asked to keep sufficient money in their child’s account.  To check the account balance for a child at Jacques Memorial, please call Mrs. Jennifer Parquette at 673-4434, extension 2.   To check balances for children at Heron Pond, please email or call Mrs. Carol Malony at 673-1811, extension 4.  Accounts that are out of money will be closed and no purchases allowed until ample funds are in the account.  This is not a credit card, but a pre-paid system. We reserve the right to serve an alternative lunch to children who are out of money, so please send your payments on time.  Overdue notices are sent home with the children so please check their backpack daily.  Please make check payable to the Milford School District.  Checks may be mailed to:  Heron Pond Elementary School * Food Services * 80 Heron Pond Road * Milford, NH 03055.
